CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship – Lotto Eurovolley Poland 2017

Pool Phase

August 26 (Saturday)

17:30 – Russia – Slovenia

20:30 – Bulgaria – Spain

Russia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain form the CEV Men’s European Volleyball Championship – LOTTO EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 preliminary round Pool C, which will play its matches in TAURON Arena Krakow. The biggest sports and event hall in Poland will also host the playoff, quarter- and semifinal as well as medal matches of the tournament.

LOTTO EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017 pool phase will be played from August 24 till 28, 2017 in four Host Cities: Gdansk (Pool A – Poland, Serbia, Finland and Estonia), Szczecin (Pool B – Italy, Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic), Krakow (Pool C – Russia, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Spain) and Katowice (Pool D – France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Turkey), with the Opening Ceremony and Match held at PGE National stadium (detailed match schedule is available here).

On August 30, after one day of rest, playoff matches will take place in Krakow and Katowice, between second- and third best teams of Pools A – C and B – D respectively. The winners shall join the best teams of the Pool phase in the quarterfinals which are also going to be played in Krakow and Katowice, on August 31.

The final phase will be held in TAURON Arena Krakow. On Saturday, September 2, the semifinal matches will prelude the medal matches of the Old Continent’s championship.

All matches are set to begin at 17:30 and 20:30, with all Poland National Team matches in the Pool Phase set to the latter.

The 16 best teams in Europe will play a total 36 matches at LOTTO EUROVOLLEY POLAND 2017: 24 in the preliminary phase, four play-off matches, four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and two medal matches.

Volleyball at TAURON Arena Krakow

This year’s European Championship will be another volleyball event of international rank to be held at TAURON Arena Krakow.

So far the biggest sports and event hall in Poland has hosted the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship Poland 2014, Hubert Jerzy Wagner Memorial (2014 and 2016), CEV Champions League Final Four 2016, FIVB World League Final Six 2016 as well as the World League Intercontinental Round matches (2014 and 2015).
